The Shop and Establishment Act, enacted by different State Governments, regulates the working conditions of employees in shops, restaurants, and other commercial establishments. The Weekly Holiday Act, 1942, enacted by the Central Government, governs the granting of holidays to all commercial establishments. Nonetheless, there isn't a single Central Government Act that covers all aspects of work hours, wage payments, and workplace health and safety in commercial settings.
